¹⁴ In righteousness you shall be established; You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; And from terror, for it shall not come near you.

Isaiah 54:14 NKJV

It is so easy for us to be carried away in all of what we see going on today. Yes, there is a lot of wickedness taking place today. Yes, we find ourselves living in a moment of truth where we are being tested in our faith. Does that mean that we should fear? Should we be afraid of what man may do to us?

I often think about all of those who came before, and the reason I am here today is because they endured. How did they endure? Was it solely by their strength and by their might? Sure, those who came before me were very strongminded people. Yet, they were a faithful people as well. They put their faith and their trust in the Lord and they would proudly tell anybody that God had kept them!

God has made us a promise, just as He had made them a promise. What is that promise? That we shall be far from oppression. That promise is that we shall not fear. Terror, the Lord has promised, shall not come near us. God promised that His righteousness shall establish and keep us. Man often tries to derail and hinder us and no matter their efforts, we still rise and succeed, don’t we?

I know that the days are long and that we face great difficulty not knowing what lies ahead. Yet, we ought not be afraid because God is not only with us but He has us in His care. What can man do to us? They can try to inflict as much harm as they won’t be we are going to make it through this test!
