Food For Thought

35 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise

Hebrews 10:35-36 NKJV

There are some that would have you believe that a child of God shouldn’t be overly confident. It is true that we should be meek, lowly, and humble. Yet, what does these things have to do with your confidence? The child of God should be confident! In fact, we should have great confidence! You should be confident in yourself, and that confidence should be fueled through your confidence in God.

You have to consider why would someone want you to think it’s a bad thing to be confident in yourself and the Lord. Just from growing up, we learn that when we lack confidence, we can’t succeed. Why would they not want you to succeed? Remember who your enemy is and what it is that Satan desires. As the writer of the epistle said, don’t you throw away your confidence for anybody! In all that we go through in life, you need to be confident to be able to make it.

To the Corinthians, Paul wrote, “if you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.” Nobody will take away my boasting of what God has and continues to do for me. There is nothing I will go through that will take away my boasting of what God has and continues to do for me. I encourage you, remain confident in God and don’t let nothing take it away.
