Honor should be given. Unlike respect, which we say is earned, honor is given to those that merit that honor. For all of those who believe in the Lord and His only begotten Son, we choose to cherish and to honor in recognizing what the Lord has done for us. What did God do for all of us? He gave us His only begotten Son because He loves us unconditionally. As a parent takes care of their child, or their children, because their children can’t care for themselves, God cares for us!

As precious as we consider the Lord to be, God is a major stone of stumbling for a great deal of many in our world that chooses to reject and not honor Him. Of course, those that reject the Lord, reject Him by their disobedience. These who reject the Lord are also choosing to ignore all that the Lord has done through His unconditional love for the world. At the same time, this is choosing to reject God’s unconditional love for them. The truly sad part about the world’s rejection of God is that God truly does love the world.

My encouragement for today is to come to appreciate, value, and honor the Lord. To those that value and honor the Lord, we enter into a rewarding relationship that will last beyond this world; it goes on for eternity. To those that choose to reject, and therefore dishonor the Lord, you sadly miss out on the greatest and most rewarding relationship you could ever enter into – don’t continue to make this error.
