Food For Thought

We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

1 John 4:6 NKJV

As the old saying goes, “knowledge is power.”  Why is it power?  Well, the notion is that people can use knowledge to control the world.  So, when you grew up in a house like my house, it was incredibly important to gain knowledge.  First, you gained knowledge to know better.  Secondly, you gained knowledge so as not to be fooled or taken advantage of by those that lie and deceive.

For these same exact reasons, it’s incredibly important to gain knowledge of God.  The devil is a liar and he is most certainly active in the world.  Satan doesn’t want you to know that you are loved by the Lord.  In fact, Satan doesn’t want you to know that you are blessed.  The wicked and the evil will constantly lie to hinder and keep you from God’s blessings.  So shouldn’t want to be deceived about the Lord.

I tell you there is a mighty blessing in coming to know God for yourself!  The best way to gain knowledge of Him is to enter into a personal relationship with Him.  Through personal fellowship with the Lord, one comes to know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.  Through a personal relationship with God, one comes to know that He is loving, merciful, and wants the best for you.  When one speaks of God, you will know by the spirit that resides in you whether it is truth or lie.

Again, such knowledge is power!  In this power, there is true freedom, comfort, joy, and peace.  I encourage you to go know the Lord for yourself and truly be blessed.
