Lean on the Everlasting Arm | 2 Corinthians 7:11

Read This Passage: 2 Cor. 7:2-12

11 For observe this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner: What diligence it produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what vehement desire, what zeal, what vindication! In all things you proved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

2 Corinthians 7:11 NKJV

While we live in this world, it is a certainty that we are all going to have our good days and and our days of great struggle. Those days of great struggle can become such a heavy weight for us in our soul which then affects us physically, mentally, and emotionally. So, in those days, we want to do our best to handle our spiritual struggles so that aren’t hurting physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Now, everyone seemingly has their own way of dealing with their struggles. The question, however, is whether our way of dealing with our struggles is actually healthy for our soul. Those who are of the world will throw money, drugs, alcohol, and sex (etc.) at their problems with the hopes that their problems will wash away. Sadly, many come to find that these “fixes” actually does nothing for their soul because these fixes are temporary and those struggles still remain. The best step for us to take for our soul is to be faithful and to lean on the Lord.

Paul said to the Corinthians that faith through our sorrows is what’s healthy for our souls and will keep us upright! Faith through our sorrows is what brings us to salvation! Yes, sorrow will come our way but when we endure through faith, as the old saying goes, we will reach the good through the bad. Don’t lean on the worldly fixes to help you with your struggles, lean on the Lord.
