Love Is More Than Just Your Words
Reverend Leo H. McCrary II
The child of God knows what love is because God has shown us love and how it moves.

Today’s devotional reading: 1 John 3:11-24
Love is seen. Love can be felt. So, when you tell someone you love them, but they don’t see the effort of love, they can tell it’s not sincere. When you tell someone that you love them, but they don’t feel that love, they can tell it’s not sincere.
An issue that plagues “Christianity” today is both its past and present hypocrisy. The bible and the name of God were used by those who thought they were superior when they enslaved others. The bible and the name of God is still used by those who think they are superior when they make laws that hurt and harm others. If you aren’t genuinely moving in the grace that God has shown to mankind, how can you proclaim to be His child?
The child of God must be committed to not simply saying they love others but genuinely moving in God’s grace. This means that the child of God must bear with others as God has with us (Rom. 15:1). This means that when one compels us to go a mile with them, we go up and above in our efforts (Matt. 5:41)! This means that when we say that we’ll keep others in our thoughts and prayers, we acutally do it!
Let our love be sincere so that it can be felt, seen, and appreciated.
