Not a Single Sheep Will Be Lost | Luke 15:7
April 4, 2025
7 I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
Luke 15:7 NKJV
Continuing on my thought from yesterday. God made it clear that all souls belong to Him. To a group of tax collectors, sinners, Pharisees, and scribes, Jesus taught a parable about one lost sheep. Jesus asked the question: what man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? All of them, I imagined, nodded in agreement that all of them would go search for the lost sheep.
Jesus took that moment to tell them that is how the Lord works. In fact, Jesus was the one that was in search of the sheep that had been lost. You see, mankind was “loss” from God when man chose to sin in the garden. If you ever think for a second that God desires for one to dwell in sin, then you’ve chosen to ignore what Christ has done. Christ entered this world to show God’s lost sheep the way back home.
Jesus has told all of us to follow Him back home. Some of us instantly turned around and began to follow Him home. However, there are others who are continuing about because may they’re being stubborn or hard of hearing. Yet, Jesus hasn’t given up calling on them to follow Him back home. Even if it takes to their last days, Jesus will be happy if they finally make that turn and follow Him home.
As we’ve seen in some of our recent Sunday School lessons, there is going to be so much joy in heaven. Jesus said that if it is just one sinner who repents, there is going to be great joy! There’s going to be so much joy in heaven because God is not going to lose a single sheep that chooses to come back home. God is going to welcome all of us home with wide open arms! That is an embrace that all of us should look forward to experiencing.
