Food For Thought

O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.

Psalm 63:1 NKJV

This is David’s devotion and I want you to notice what his devotion was to. Was his devotion to wealth? Was his devotion to power? What’s interesting is that David, as a king, was a man of both wealth and power. Even before David was a king, when he was on the run from Saul, I would tell you that David had a great deal of wealth and power. Even more, when he was just a shepherd boy, I would tell you that David had a great deal of wealth and power.

I tell you that David isn’t the only one who that can be said for. You who are reading this today, I want you to know that you also have great wealth and great power as well. How so? Well, David had great wealth and power because God was with him and blessed him. You have great wealth and great power today because God is with you and He blesses you as you go. Now, many will hear this, roll their eyes, and move on. They will spend their days searching for that earthly wealth and comfort.

David said his heart always searched for God’s guidance, providance, and sustenance. What is it that is constantly on your mind? Many of us have grand desires, and there is certainly nothing wrong with such aspirations. However, I would hope that in your aspirations, you desire for the Lord to lead you in your aspirations. One who does as David and seek God’s guidance, providance, and sustenance will certainly make it and be blessed.

In a world that many think has everything, I encourage you today to look to the one who does have everything and will give to you liberally.
