Promised Blessings Will Always Come True

Reverend Leo H. McCrary II

God is faithful to His promises, so should we take His promises lightly?

Today’s devotional reading: Genesis 17:15-22

Many of us are used to having promises go unfulfilled, but we shouldn’t attribute our doubt in man to God. In 2 Peter 3:9, Peter wrote that the Lord is not slack (slow) concerning His promise. While we may believe that God is slow and delaying to deliver, God will deliver at His time of choosing.

Here are a couple of things we should keep in mind while waiting on God’s blessings:

  1. God’s unique blessing. We must remember that God’s gifts are unique to all of His children. So, the Lord’s blessings for you are truly special.
  2. Let God cook. A special meal that’s cooked in a hurry has a higher chance of not coming out right, right? Because God is preparing a special blessing for you, give it the proper space to develop.

Abraham laughed at the idea of his wife having a child in her old age, yet God had made a promise to Him. God is serious about His promises, regardless of how long they may take to be fulfilled. Since God is serious about what He has promised us, we should be serious as well. Hopefully these thoughts can help you in your faith and patience as you wait on God to fulfill His promises to you.
