Food For Thought

10 Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition, 11 knowing that such a person is warped and sinning, being self-condemned.

Titus 3:10-11 NKJV

Plain and simple – some folks just like to keep up a bunch of mess! They don’t care if what they are saying is right or long, so long as they can stir up a bunch of mess. Sure, at times this cause laughter as we like to joke with one antoher. Then there are other times where people stir out of vileness to get the emotional response they so desire.

Paul said to the young preacher, reject a “divisive man” after the first and second admonition. Let’s be clear, Paul is saying there is nothing wrong with giving someone a second chance. However, after you have admonished (warned, reprimanded, or criticized) that person but they continue to be divisive – it’s time to shut the door. As Paul said, such a person is warped in their mind and they are sinning.

Let me tell you something, it’s never wrong to take your health into consideration when dealing with divisive people. You have to refuse those that contiually try to keep up drama and a bunch of mess. We all have to refuse and reject those that work to divide. As Jesus said, a house that’s divided against iteslf will not stand (Matt. 12:25). Whereas, when there is unity, there is building, there is growth, there is prosperity.
