Sing Out Praise For He is Worthy | Luke 19:37-38
March 22, 2024
37 Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, 38 saying: “ ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
Luke 19:37-38 NKJV
What comes to mind when you think of Palm Sunday? A number of thoughts comes to my mind when I think about Palm Sunday. I think of God giving us His only begotten Son. I think about the reason why Jesus was entering Jerusalem for one last time in His earthly ministry. I also think about these disciples that we see in my scripture for today.
As we saw in my last thought, the Samaritan woman was concerned about the right place to worship. Jesus said to her that the time was present that true worshipers worshiped in spirit and truth. I do believe that there were many that were watching Jesus as He entered Jerusalem that last time. However, scripture identifies that it was the whole multitude of disciples that rejoice and praised God as Jesus entered Jerusalem on a colt.
They weren’t praising Him in a synagogue or at some specific place for religious worship! Jesus’ disciples were out in the streets singing praises! Wherever you are you can praise the Lord! You don’t have to be in a church to praise God. When you recognize the goodness of the Lord, wherever you are, praise His name and don’t be ashamed! Yes, praise the Lord because He is certainly worthy of your praise.
