So Great a Love We’ve Received
Reverend Leo H. McCrary II
There is nothing that the Lord needs from us. There is no reason for Him to love us, yet, God has chosen to love us, regardless of our sins.

Today’s devotional reading: Titus 3:3-7
What did we do to deserve so great a love that God has shown to us? Have we truly lived in holiness? Have we truly lived righteously? Certainly not. We are as flawed as it gets! All our righteousness, without the Lord, is like filthy rags, filled with all of those sins we committed yesterday, commit today, and will continue to commit tomorrow.
Yet, with all of those skeletons in your closet, those deep, dark secrets, you have, God still loves you. We often diminish the Lord’s love for us because we don’t truly understand the meaning of the word. To not diminish God’s love for you, I want you to understand that God is devoted to you.
You see, it would take great devotion for someone to forgive you after you have lived transgressing them repeatedly, day after day, hour after hour, minute after minute. Think about how often you have grown tired of someone because they have constantly wronged you. How often do you give or help those who repeatedly use and abuse you? Those whom you do help after they have repeatedly wronged you are those whom you are truly devoted to, right? Yet, even then, there is a line that you will draw.
God’s devotion towards all of us is shown through the giving of His only begotten Son. God took every transgression you can commit against Him and threw them away by giving His only begotten Son. Regardless of your sin against Him, the Lord still listens to your prayers and answers. Regardless of your sin against Him, the Lord still chooses to sustain you. Regardless of your sin against Him, the Lord still chooses to dwell with you.
His devotion saved you. Yes, His devotion saved us! As Paul told Timothy, it wasn’t anything that we did ourselves – there is no greater love than God’s love for you.
