Standing Firm on God’s Promise of Deliverance | Is. 51:11
February 26, 2025
11 So the ransomed of the Lord shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness; Sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Isaiah 51:11 NKJV
With all of the chaos, hurt, and suffering happening today, one thing is very clear to me – it’s time to look to God. Yes, I believe now is a time when one, if they haven’t done so already, should be looking to the Lord. We should all be looking to God for relief. We should all be looking to God for comfort. We should all be looking to God for salvation (deliverance) from our struggle.
In this chapter of Isaiah, the Lord spoke to those who were caught up in the chastisement of the wicked. The people were living in Babylon, in exile, and was facing great struggle. Though they faced hard times, God Had an encouraging word for those who knew righteousness and abided by His law. God told them not to fear the reproach of men nor to fear their insults. Why shouldn’t they fear? God had promised the righteous that their sorrow and sighing would one day end and they would return to Zion with singing and everlasting joy.
God delivered on that promise. We’re living at a time where each morning is bringing more worry to many of us. Should we fear? As its said in Hebrews 12:11, no chastening seems be joyful but afterwards, it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness. With all of the chaos, hurt, and suffering happening today, God has a word for us and that word is an unchanging word.
God is telling those who know Him, not to be fearful. We shouldn’t fear what the wicked are doing. We shouldn’t fear their words. Yes, they will move against us and even make life hard on us but always remember this: God’s got us! So, this is a day where we be looking to the Lord. God is ready to help and we have to do is rest in His promise.
