Stop Giving the Devil Power | Luke 10:17-19

Read This Passage: Luke 10:13-20

17 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” 18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Luke 10:17-19 NKJV

Is Satan our great adversary? Yes, he absolutely is. Does the devil scheme and work against us? Yes, absolutely. Just as Peter said, the devil is like a roaring lion that is on the prowl to see who he can easily consume. Can the devil keep us from our blessings? Many of us will answer yes, absolutely. However, I want to hold my hands up to you on that thought to pause you in your thinking.

In the book of Daniel, the devil is seen trying to prevent an angel from reaching Daniel with an answer to his prayers, and ultimately, scripture shows us that the devil failed (Dan. 10:12-14). The devil is shown in scripture doing all he could to hinder Job, but ultimately, Job ended up receiving double the blessings from the Lord. So, you may think that the devil can block you from receiving your blessings but he cannot. You and I must understand that the Lord has given to us the power, through His only begotten Son, to overcome the devil.

Ultimately, the only person that can block you from your blessing is you – we hinder ourselves; nobody will hinder you more than you will hinder yourself. We must stop giving the devil power and authority that he does not have. The devil has no power and authority over you! You have the power over whether or not you will move to take possession of your blessing. So, if you feel your blessing is being blocked, I encourage you to look to yourself and consider your faithfulness – are you move towards your blessing?
