Stop Playing Nice With the Wicked | Eph. 5:11
April 7, 2025
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.
Ephesians 5:11 NKJV
What I say next may sound mean to some of you, but it has to be said today. The child of God ought not be rolling over to the actions of the wicked. The child of God ought not to be rolling over to their lies and to their deceptions. When the wicked says something that is utterly foolish and devious, do not take it as a joke. The mere thoughts of the wicked, Proverbs 15:26 tells us that they are an abomination to the Lord.
We have normalized wicked thoughts, words, gestures, and actions and this must stop! We must take serious the thoughts of the wicked. We must take serious the words of the wicked. You see, their thoughts and the words turn into harmful actions that endangers livelihoods.
As Paul said, you are to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness! We must stop playing nice with those who express their desire to carry out their wicked intentions. We cannot be afraid to call out the actions of the wicked and hold them accountable! Whether it is your family, friends, or an acquaintance that you know, when you’re in the presence of wicked thoughts and deeds, say something!
As a child of God, you have a responsibility. Our responsibility is to stand in the name of Jesus. This means you are stand for what is good, what is holy, and what is righteous. Romans 12:9 tells us to abhor – despise – what is evil and cling – hold tightly – what is good. If the wicked despise you because you called out their wicked actions, then you have done your job! Hold them accountable and offer godly rebuke!
