Food For Thought

11 But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” 12 So He said, “I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”

Exodus 3:11-12 NKJV

When God called on Moses to go before Pharaoh to bring the children of Israel out of Egypt, Moses didn’t jump at the idea. Moses was very hesitant and had many questions. He asked the Lord, “Who am I that should go to Pharaoh?” Moses even tried to make an exucse about being slow of speech and slow of tongue (Ex. 4:10).

This is a moment that actually reminds me of how we can be when God is directing our steps. We should completely trust God when He is directing us to the blessing that He has for us, right? However, there are a lot of times when we don’t quickly jump at God’s directing our steps. We will ask question after questions! Is there anything wrong about asking God questions? Not necessarily.

However, there are times when the questions must stop and we must take a leap of faith. As the Lord said to Moses, He will certainly be with you when you take that leap of faith. You must trust that you are in the care of the Lord! When you leap in the care of the Lord, again you should trust that all things will work together for good. Sure, there may be some bumpy times and things might not go smoothly – that is life.

However, as the Lord said to Moses, it will be a sign to you that God is with you when you are blessed beyond blessed.
