The Overflowing Riches Found Trusting in God
Reverend Leo H. McCrary II
God’s children ought not ever thinkg that their faith will go unrewarded by the Lord. God is faithful!

Today’s devotional reading: Genesis 15:1-6
In Psalm 23, David sang out that the Lord is his shepherd and he did not want. In fact, David said that his cup was not only filled but it ran over. God knows our every need and will certainly meet and exceed those needs as His desire is for us to be satisfied in our souls. Yet, many of us struggle to believe that God’s blessings are overflowing for us! Why is that?
- Physical proof. For many of us, seeing is believing. We have let conventional wisdom dictate to us that the blessing is in what we possess. If we don’t possess much, we begin to believe that we aren’t truly blessed.
- Envy and covetousness. We often look at what others have, and because one may possess more than us, we again, don’t believe we are truly blessed.
- God’s timing. Many of us believe that God will bless us in due time, but we don’t like to wait for the “due time”. Sometimes it can feel like months, or even years have gone by, and we’re still waiting on the Lord to deliver.
Abraham had found himself waiting on God to fulfill His promise to him until he was 100 years old! Think about that! Yet, the fact that he lived that long was a blessing in itself! So, while we wait on the Lord’s blessing, let us keep these things in mind:
- Every breath you take is a blessing.
- God being with us on this journey is a blessing.
- God’s shielding and protection from all hurt, harm, and danger is a blessing.
- Deliverance from the schemes of the wicked is a blessing.
- Deliverance in our trials and tribulations is a blessing.
- God’s daily care is a blessing.
Let us not overlook the “small things“, the things we take for granted, because those are some of God’s greatest works in our lives.
