There’s An Appointment You Must Not Forget | Zeph. 3:19-20
October 2, 2024
19 Behold, at that time I will deal with all who afflict you; I will save the lame, And gather those who were driven out; I will appoint them for praise and fame in every land where they were put to shame. 20 At that time I will bring you back, Even at the time I gather you; For I will give you fame and praise among all the peoples of the earth, when I return your captives before your eyes,” Says the Lord.
Zephaniah 3:19-20 NKJV
This is a promise that is far reaching, even though we find it through the words of the prophet Zephaniah. Yes, there was a period of time where these words fit those Jews who had been carried into exile in Babylon. However, these words look forward to “that time”. That time speaks of a time that we, the sincere believers, should always be looking forward to.
The Lord said that at that time, He will “deal with” all of those who afflicted us – His children. Today, the wicked and the evil do their best to rise up and tear apart those who move out of the love to uplift and to prosper. While the wicked and evil may bring harm today, at that time, the Lord said that He will save the lame. The Lord promised that at that time, He will appoint praise and fame for all of us who are put to shame for what we may not have today. Even more, the Lord said that “at that time”, we will be given fame and praise among all the peoples of the earth.
I am not one that does my absolute best not to be concerned about what I don’t have or what I lack. I can’t be concerned about worldly riches when the Lord has promised so great a promise for me! All of God’s children should start to grow in vowing the promised and certain riches of tomorrow over what some think they have today. Let this word rest in your soul and let God’s promise to deliver such a promise remain in your soul.
