Food For Thought

Therefore King Darius signed the written decree. 10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.

Daniel 9:9-10 NKJV

I believe that most of us, when we think of Daniel, we think of one who believed in prayer. Daniel was exiled to Babylon when he was young teenage boy. He would go on to live to be an old man during a very dark period of time for the Jews. In Babylon, he and other Jews would be forced to assimilate to Babylonian culture.

However, Daniel was a man that stuck to his faith in God and because of that he was greatly blessed. Because of his faith, Daniel actually made enemies that conspired to get him thrown into a den of lions. They came up with a law that would outlaw the worship unless it was worhsip of the king. For the fear of their life, most would have stopped worshiping the Lord but Daniel wasn’t changing for anything!

God is always going to lift you up – don’t change for anything. We can’t be worried about what other people think or what they do. What is most important for us as believers is to keep marching forward. Faith requires diligence – serious commitment. The devil wants you to give up and to stop moving forward but don’t do that! Your victory is already sealed, there’s no need in giving it away!
