When You Believe You’re Perfect | Proverbs 3:6-8
Read This Passage: Prov. 3:5-106 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. 8 It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.
Proverbs 3:6-8 NKJV
Don’t think for one second that you are perfect. Something that scripture makes very clear, repeatedly, from start to finish, is that nobody is perfect; we all have our blemishes and flaws, whatever they may be. Yet, some of us fool ourselves by thinking that we are something that we are not. The proverb tells us not to be wise in our own eyes. In his first letter to the Corinthians, Paul said the same – “Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool so that he may become wise (1 Cor. 3:18).”
Those who think they are perfect are actually their own worst enemy. You see, there is no growth in perfection. Not growing in a world that is always changing is simply unhealthy for the one that believes they are perfect. At the very same, believing that you know everything, in a reality that we actually know so little about is incredibly foolish. Nobody knows everything and nobody is perfect! We all need help and the sooner you come to realize this truth, the healthier it will be for you and for all of those around you.
In this world, I hope that you would choose growth over this delusion. If you desire to truly be wise, acknowledge this truth and then turn to the one that truly can lead to you growing wiser. I encourage you today that in all of your ways you should acknowledge the Lord – He will direct your paths to what is good and healthy for your growth.
