Food For Thought

His delight is in the fear of the Lord, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears; But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.

Isaiah 11:3-4 NKJV

Today, it just feels like the corrupt, the wicked, and the evil are winning, doesn’t it? Satan is in his workshop and it just feels like he is winning, doesn’t it? The day of the great tribulation will come and for those who take part in it, it will just feel like Satan has won the battle. Yet, in all that we see today and what will come tomorrow, there is no victory for him. Let me repeat that one more time for you: there is no victory for the wicked.

Everything about the wicked is temporary. Their “happiness and joy” – temporary. Their “power” – temporary. Their “riches” – temporary. Everything about the wicked is tied to a temporary reality that has been promised to one day pass away. You see, the problem the wicked face today is that Christ has already won. You see, not only did Christ give His life for us, but Christ has enlightened us with the everlasting gospel.

What is the everlasting gospel? The everlasting gospel is that whoever chooses to believe in Him will not perish. The everlasting gospel is that the Lord loves everybody and everybody can have part in His eternal kingdom regardless of race, nationality, etc. The everlasting gospel is the promised fall of all that is unholy and unrighteous.

The everlasting gospel it brings us comfort as we see the futile efforts of the wicked. To the dismay of the wicked, we’re standing even stronger today because God hasn’t taken His hands off of us! Guess what? God is never going to take His hands off those who have chosen to be in His care.
