Food For Thought

Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. 10 For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.

2 Corinthians 7:9-10 NKJV

You should not and cannot live in regret. Living in regret is not only unhealthy for your soul but it leaves the door wide open for wicked and evil spirits to enter in.  Should you choose to live in regret, it can lead to great sorrow.  That is to say that living in regret can lead one to living in despair and depression from which it’s incredibly difficult to overcome.

So, you’re left with a choice:  live in sorrow or not.  Which will you choose?  Personally, I recommend that you don’t leave the door wide open for the devil to enter in and further poison your soul.  Yes, there are better choices that we could have made.  Yes, there are some things we could have done better.  The beauty of the Lord is that it pleases Him to give us chance after chance, and opportunity after opportunity.

Paul’s rejoice in this scripture was due to the fact that the people chose to live rather than live in regret and sorrow.  To truly move forward, one must turn to the Lord and trust where He leads. God is going to move forward, rather than look back on what could have been. God is doing a new thing for you and so it is always better to move forward rather than live in deep regret.

So, I encourage you today to refrain from living in regret because it’s simply not healthy for you.  Living in regret will keep you from future blessings.  Eyes ahead to God and continue to put one foot in front of the other.  All things will work together for good.
