Your Path, Your Power – You Aren’t Doomed! | Ezek. 18:5,9
April 1, 2025
4 “Behold, all souls are Mine; The soul of the father As well as the soul of the son is Mine; The soul who sins shall die. 5 But if a man is just And does what is lawful and right; 9 If he has walked in My statutes And kept My judgments faithfully— He is just; He shall surely live!” Says the Lord God.
Ezekiel 18:4-5, 9 NKJV
All of us are on our own spiritual journeys where we have the power to choose who we will be. The choice of who we will be will be a choice that God will respect and reward, whether that is everlasting life in His kingdom or away from Him. I feel this is important to know because there are many who feel they are doomed to destruction because of who they came from or who surrounds them.
The Lord cleared up such a thought in this scripture. God said that all souls belong to Him and He will be the one to judge every soul. God made it clear that those who sin will stand in their sin. They aren’t going to be able to push their sins off on others. Nor will their sins be cast down the line, as if it sin is genetic.
Sin is not genetic. Here’s the case where you might come from a rotten apple but that doesn’t mean that you have to be a rotten apple as well. God said that the one who lives faithfully is justified of their sins, and they will surely live. If you come from a rotten apple but you choose not to be rotten, you will be glorified by the Lord one day!
Some have grown up thinking they were cursed because of who their parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles were. Society may judge you because of where you’re from or who you came from but God doesn’t judge us in such a manner. You aren’t cursed unless you choose to curse yourself! This is your journey – you have the power to choose who you will be! My hope is that you will choose to live as one who is just in the eyes of God.
