You’re Here to Guide Others | Acts 8:30-31

Read This Passage: Acts 8:26-40

30 So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?” 31 And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him.

Acts 8:30-31 NKJV

When you dedicate yourself to living for the Lord, do you think that means it is OK for you to live just for yourself? Hopefully not. I repeat it time and time again that we are to love the Lord with our whole heart and in that love, we are to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. To that point, let us remember that we are commissioned by Christ to share the good news with all of those around us. So, don’t think for one second that it is OK for you to simply live for yourself because that is not what we are called to do.

As we see with Philip here, there are going to be those around you who will be in need of guidance in their life. Philip was led to the eunuch by God to help guide him in understanding the Word. I tell you, the Lord will use His children as His vessels in many different ways. God will lead you to guide others in order to edify them whether that is physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual – it’s up to God!

As God’s children, we must be ready to help guide people as the Lord will lead us. As Paul said, we must be ready in season and out of season to minister His word. When I say that, I want you to understand that there are more ways for us to minister the word than just preaching the word. So, make yourself ready to be used by the Lord to guide others by how He calls you to do.
