Matthew 24:4-13 – The Reason We Must Endure
August 20, 2026The journey of faith is made difficult by this world that we live in, but don’t you give up in your faith in the Lord.

Today’s devotional reading: Matthew 24:4-13
We live in a world that constantly tests the faith of the one who believes in Christ. One who believes in the name of Jesus believes in the message of grace and mercy. God gave His only begotten Son so that the believer would be saved from the condemnation of sin. Therefore, one who believes in the name of Jesus ought to believe in showing grace and mercy to others and that anyone can be redeemed.
Yet, we live in a world that seemingly craves downfall and destruction. We live in a world that preaches wealth, but wealth must come by selfish means. The rich use the weak and poor as a stepping stone to wealth while leaving the weak and poor with scraps. The truly sad part about such an environment to live in is that children are raised to take on such a mindset, when by nature, children will play with another children regardless of their differences.
The wicked have shaped a world that is filled with misery, as many good people have given in to participating in a system that benefits only a select few. Do you think that God made us to move in such a manner? Absolutely not. God made us in His image, according to His likeness, and the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit work together as one.
Never let go of the spirit of love and unity! Jesus once asked, “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” Jesus also asked, “What will a man give in exchange for his soul (Matt. 16:26)?” This world of sin is not worth losing your soul over. I encourage this of you today: Do not be conformed to a worldly mindset; choose to endure by faith. Jesus said that those who endure to the end will be saved.
